Understanding Google Flow Credits: Daily Refreshes, Monthly Top-Ups, and Expiration Rules

Whether you are experimenting with Google Flow’s Veo video generation model or using it to power a creative workflow, understanding how and when your credits replenish is critical. Google Flow relies on a dual-tier credit system combining a daily base allowance with monthly subscription pools.

Here is a breakdown of exactly how Google Flow credit refreshes work, when your balance resets, and how to maximize your generation allowance.

1. Daily Free Credits: The 24-Hour Rolling Window

Every Google account receives 50 daily Google Flow credits. However, the daily reset does not follow a fixed midnight schedule (such as 12:00 AM UTC or local time).

  • The Trigger Mechanism: Your 24-hour daily cycle begins the moment you run your first generation of the day.
  • Example: If you generate your first video clip at 2:15 PM on Tuesday, your next batch of 50 daily credits will become available at 2:15 PM on Wednesday.
  • No Rollover: Daily credits do not stack or carry over. If you use 20 of your 50 credits in a cycle, the remaining 30 expire as soon as the new 24-hour window opens, resetting your balance back to 50.

Note: Daily credits sit at a base cap of 50. Higher-tier generation modes (such as Veo Quality clips costing 100 credits) cannot be funded by daily credits alone, requiring subscription credit pools.

2. Monthly Subscription Credits: Billing Cycle Resets

If you subscribe to a paid Google AI plan (Plus, Pro, or Ultra), you receive a dedicated pool of monthly credits on top of your standard 50 daily credits.

| Google AI Plan | Monthly Subscription Bonus | Total Daily Base | Primary Use Case |
| :— | :— | :— | :— |
| Free | 0 credits / month | 50 / day | Lite clips (Veo 3.1) & testing prompts |
| Google AI Plus ($4.99/mo) | +200 credits / month | 50 / day | Casual upscaling (up to 1080p) |
| Google AI Pro ($19.99/mo) | +1,000 credits / month | 50 / day | Regular quality video generation |
| Google AI Ultra ($99.99–$199.99/mo) | +10,000 to 25,000 credits / month | 50 / day | High-volume production & 4K upscaling |

Monthly Refresh Rules

  1. Billing Date Alignment: Monthly subscription credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle, not on the calendar 1st of the month. If your plan renews on the 14th, your monthly credits reset on the 14th.
  2. Use-It-or-Lose-It: Unused monthly subscription credits do not roll over into the next billing month.
  3. Consumption Order: Flow automatically spends your 50 daily credits first before drawing from your monthly subscription pool, preserving your monthly credits for larger generation tasks.

3. Purchased Add-On AI Credits

If you run out of both daily and monthly subscription allowances, Google One plan managers in supported regions can purchase add-on AI credit packs (
